jungle hikes & tours

Tiskita has an extensive, well-marked trail system. The trails meander along fresh water pools (swimmable), a waterfall, primary tropical rainforest, secondary tropical rainforest, reforestation areas and the organic orchard. Tiskita offers guided jungle hikes, tours in the organic orchard, night tours and guided birdwatching. Tiskita's guides carry binoculars and a telescope.

jungle hikes

Tiskita has knowledgeable guides that are excellent at spotting wildlife. The guided jungle hikes start at the lodge and continue into Tiskita's private biological reserve. The extensive trail system makes the difficulty and duration easy to adapt.

organic orchard tour

Tiskita's organic orchard is situated in a small valley fringed by the jungle, not far from the lodge. Over 125 types of native and exotic tropical fruit grow in the orchard. The fruit attracts wildlife, therefore the tour is also good for spotting birds and monkeys.

Delicious tropical fruit can be tasted like Cacao (Chocolate), Starfruit and Mangosteen. The fruit tasting depends on what is in season.

night tour

Many secretive creatures like Kinkajous, most owls, Pacas and porcupines are active only after dusk. At night, these animals forage, tree frogs are active, insects and arachnids lurk around, while bioluminescent mushrooms glow eerily in the dark. The night tour is offered depending on the moon cycle, because the moon has an effect on animal activity.

Tiskita's night tour guide has a black light to look for scorpions. Rubber boots and walking sticks are available at the main lodge, free of charge.
