The main lodge is positioned centrally between the cabins. From the main lodge, it is only a few minutes walk to the cabins, the tropical rainforest and the beach. The main lodge has a jungle and ocean view. The lawn and walkways are landscaped to attract wildlife.
The swimming pool and self-service bar are located by the main lodge. When lounging around on the lawn or by the swimming pool, birds, monkeys, sloths and the resident iguanas usually make an appearance.
The main lodge has a library, swimming pool and other facilities.
In the dining area, there is a small library with books on local plants, trees and wildlife. There is also a book exchange with a reading area, and there are board games and playing cards.
There is a small gift shop in the main lodge. It has t-shirts and tops, jewelry by Costa Rican designers and crafts made by the Guaymí, the local indigenous population. All profit from clothes and crafts goes to the Tiskita Foundation and to the Guaymí.
In between the main lodge and the self-service bar are a mahogany ping-pong table, a foosball table and a chess table.
The lawn is perfect for reading and observing wildlife. Almost every afternoon there is a spectacular roost of raptors, vultures, Scarlet Macaws and other birds to observe. At one roost, over 70 vultures and 28 Scarlet Macaws were counted.
The chlorine-free swimming pool next to the lodge and self-service bar is great for enjoying the sun or cooling-off in the shade. There are lounge chairs around the swimming pool. Beach towels available at the main lodge, free of charge.
Right next to the swimming pool is a lookout with a view of the Pacific Ocean.
