Tiskita offers a one-week painting package with classes taught by painter André van Melle.

andré van melle

André van Melle is an experienced painter and painting teacher. His impressionist paintings are owned by collectors and displayed in galleries. André, his wife Lucie, their children and grandchildren have been regular guests at Tiskita.

classes

The classes focus on outdoor painting and cover:

  • Sketching
  • Building composition
  • Catching the moment
  • Balancing colors
  • Dealing with changing light conditions

material

The participants need to bring their own material. Tiskita can provide an easel, containers and oil paint diluents. Recommended are acrylic, oil and watercolor media. There is no art supply store nearby Tiskita and the tropical climate can make paint react differently than a temperate climate.

schedule

About three to four hours a day are reserved for painting. The schedule may vary depending on individual needs and the weather.

The painting package does not include transportation, but Tiskita can assist with travel arrangements within Costa Rica.
